During June, 2011 rising fifth and eighth grade students were provided a summer program where they had the opportunity to use various technologies to better understand scientific principles and document their observations.

The program served to focus on the transition years where evidence has shown students are more at risk of loosing instructional ground.  The program allowed students to work, not only at the SEEC Mitigation area, but at the schools where they would be students during the upcoming school year.

Students used laptops, data collecting calculators, scientific probes, GPS devices and various audio/visual devices in order to document their findings and create projects that used the scientific method and were organized around the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards.
